Product Description

Rare Magnum Format: The revitalized legend of Remoissenet in its absolute prime.

This is a rare 1.5L Magnum from the single greatest White Burgundy vintage of the last decade (2017), crafted by the "Dream Team" of ex-Jadot executives and Wine Advocate critics who poured millions into resurrecting this historic estate. You aren't just buying a Premier Cru Chassagne-Montrachet; you are securing a large-format masterpiece from the specific vintage that critics call the "Goldilocks" year—perfectly balanced, crystalline, and immortal—made by the brilliant Claudie Jobard.

Remoissenet was once a sleeping giant, but in 2005, it was purchased by New York financier Edward Milstein and Pierre-Antoine Rovani (formerly of The Wine Advocate), who brought in veteran Bernard Repolt and gave the estate a blank check to pursue quality over quantity. This 2017 La Maltroie is the proof of that investment. La Maltroie is a cornerstone Premier Cru in Chassagne, located just below the village on heavy clay-limestone soils known for producing wines of immense power and weight.

However, the magic here is the combination of format and vintage. In a standard bottle, the 2017s are delicious right now; in a Magnum, they are practically immortal. With the slower aging curve of the large format, this wine has retained an electric, youthful energy that screams of wet stone and orchard fruit. It is a party-sized bottle of pure sophistication that dominates the table and proves you know exactly what you're doing.
