Tasting notes

Aroma

An expressive, full-throttle nose of crushed wild strawberry, ripe pear, and brioche. Hints of almond and chalk dust reveal the pedigree of the soil.

Palate

Creamy and expansive. The palate is packed with layers of red apple, raspberry, and fresh biscuit. Unlike leaner styles of Champagne, this has genuine weight and grip, finishing with a salty, mineral kick that cleanses the palate.

Product Description

100% Grand Cru Bouzy for half the price of Bollinger.

You rarely find 100% Grand Cru Champagne at this price.

Jean-François Clouet proves you don't need a massive marketing budget to make world-class Champagne. His family has lived in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy since the mid-17th century. While the big houses blend fruit from all over the map, Clouet focuses exclusively on his own backyard: the Pinot Noir-rich slopes of Bouzy and Ambonnay.

The Grande Réserve is his calling card. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir, sourced entirely from Grand Cru vineyards. Because he owns the land, he doesn't pay the premium that big brands do for grapes. The result is a wine with the weight, power, and vinous intensity of a top-tier Blanc de Noirs—think Bollinger or Egly-Ouriet—at a price that makes it an everyday luxury. It is rich, broad-shouldered, and absolutely delicious.
