While the previous vintage established this cuvée as a true collector's obsession, the 2023 dials up the precision even further. Grown in vineyards constantly swept by freezing Pacific fog and marine winds, the fruit here ripens at a glacial pace. The brothers utilize native yeasts, whole-cluster pressing, and an incredibly light touch in the cellar to ensure that extreme maritime terroir translates directly into the glass.
The result is a thrilling, high-tension 99-point Chardonnay that drinks much closer to Premier-Cru Meursault than traditional California white wine. It is voluptuous and definitely California Chardonnay without being CALIFORNIA CHARDONNAY.
