In Detail

A high-elevation, biodynamic Savoie white with serious collector status

This is a strictly rationed allocation of France’s most sought-after alpine white, crafted by biodynamic pioneer Brice Omont on steep mountain slopes facing Mont Blanc. Blending indigenous Jacquère and Mondeuse Blanche with Chardonnay from 40-year-old vines in Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy, 'Argile Blanc' represents a pinnacle benchmark for cool-climate precision.

Here is the twist: while Savoie was historically dismissed for light ski-resort wines, Omont’s work at Domaine des Ardoisières completely redefined the region. Operating on 400-meter altitude terraces of schisty marl and clay-limestone scree, he produces a white with the structural tension of high-end Chablis and the aromatic depth of a top Loire white.

Fermented with wild yeasts in fiberglass tanks and neutral oak barrels, the 2021 captures breathtaking energy at a nimble 11.5% alcohol. Orchard fruit and citrus brightness are framed by pure mineral drive, delivering a rare bottle built for immediate impact or years in the cellar.
