François Chidaine is a legend in the Loire, widely credited with crafting some of the most serious, precise white wines in the entire region. An early pioneer of biodynamic farming, Chidaine relies on obsessive vineyard management and minimal-intervention winemaking to produce wines of incredible purity and focus. The Les Bournais vineyard is a prime, high-altitude site overlooking the Loire River. Defined by clay and a unique local limestone, this specific plot demands meticulous craftsmanship and lends the wine its signature power, weight, and tension.
The 2020 vintage is a phenomenal expression of dry Chenin Blanc. Fermented with native yeasts and aged on its fine lees in large oak demi-muids, it perfectly balances rich texture with searing, vibrant acidity.
