A biodynamic masterpiece from a new-generation estate
Crafted by one of the most ambitious new estates to emerge in Alsace, this biodynamically farmed Riesling delivers razor-sharp precision, completely defying the old-fashioned stereotypes of the region. Charles Sparr represents the eighth generation of his family in Alsace, tracing his roots all the way back to 1820. After studying in Beaune and working in California, he returned home with a strict condition: converting his family's historic vineyards entirely to organic farming.
In 2010, he met his wife Amélie, and together they united their family domains to form a 19-hectare powerhouse. By 2017, they achieved both Ecocert organic and Demeter biodynamic certifications, officially launching the Amélie & Charles Sparr estate. Drawing from over 100 plots across 11 villages, they are actively changing the perception of the appellation from the inside out, moving away from heavy styles toward wines of pure energy.
The 2020 "Sentiment" Riesling is a testament to their meticulous, low-intervention approach. It is a dry, electric, and mouthwatering expression of the grape.
