This is the anti-Stags Leap. While the valley floor wines are soft and silky, this mountain beast is iron-fisted and savory. Grown in rocky, high-elevation soils, it captures the intense, brooding power of the Vaca Mountains. The 2019 vintage was a "golden year" for Napa, producing wines of incredible structure and density. This bottle carries a $145 price tag at the winery because it is rare, it is difficult to farm, and it is absolutely spectacular. Today, you get the "Member" treatment without the monthly commitment.
