Tasting notes
Aroma
The captivating bouquet soars from the glass with expressive aromas of blackberries, raspberries, and plum preserves. As it opens, it reveals intricate layers of rose petals, crushed violets, river stone, leather, cedar, and vanilla orchid.
Palate
This full-bodied, utterly seamless wine delivers a striking, vibrant core of dark fruit framed by powdery, raw-silk tannins and bright acidity. It is exceptionally layered and sensual, concluding with a mouthwateringly precise, saline finish that expands for well over a minute. This is one to sit with.

Possessing what Vinous called “off the charts richness,” ‘19 Margaux is a must-have for anyone even remotely interested in the fine red wines of the world. We went WAY deep on this one, buying almost a full pallet so we could bring you the lowest price in the US—just $599.
The biggest names are charging $749, $900, and even more—for what?! Our bottles come chateau-direct, with perfect provenance, exactly what you want for an all-time great that will cruise in the cellar for 50 years.
This is a blue-chip First Growth that you’ll want to watch evolve. Cellar all you can afford to.
Château Margaux is a true icon—it was the first wine to be auctioned at Christies, and Thomas Jefferson himself praised it as the best of Bordeaux.
While many Bordeaux estates have expanded over the years, Chateau Margaux has almost the exact same footprint as it did three centuries ago. That means the terroir that this estate peerless has not been diluted—something that’s clear in the wines, which are better than ever.
If anything proves that, this 5 X 100-pointer does. It’s a textbook expression of the estate, with a silken texture, perfumed aromatics, blue and dark fruit layered over crushed-stone minerality, and a finish that goes on for a full minute. Built to age to the end of this century, this is one Bordeaux you need to have in your cellar. Don’t miss it.
