In Detail

Powerful, high-altitude 100% Tinto Fino

Founded in 1980 by brothers Benjamin, Manuel, and Adolfo Pérez Pascuas, Bodegas Hermanos Pérez Pascuas is a pioneering pillar of Ribera del Duero. Located in Pedrosa de Duero (a sweet spot for top-tier Spanish red wine) the estate is renowned for crafting uncompromisingly traditional, age-worthy Tempranillo.

The "La Navilla" Reserva comes from a prized single vineyard planted at an elevated 840 meters surrounding the winery. This high-altitude site benefits from extreme diurnal temperature swings, allowing the grapes to achieve rich phenolic ripeness while retaining vibrant natural acidity. Unlike the winery's classic releases, La Navilla is aged exclusively in 100% French oak barrels for 20 months, imparting a sleek, refined structure and subtle spice.

In the glass, the 2017 vintage displays a deep garnet hue. It opens with intense aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum, espresso, and smoked meats, backed by subtle graphite minerality. The palate is powerful and full-bodied, offering layers of dark berry fruit, savory spice, and fine-grained, muscular tannins that drive into a long, layered finish.
