Grown on the sheer 60-degree vertical slopes of the Coteau de Cevins, winemaker Brice Omont hand-crafts this legendary 100% Altesse from vines planted directly into veins of schist and pure white quartz.
Virtually impossible to farm, these terraced vineyards were abandoned after WWII until a heroic local effort revived them in the late 1990s. Omont farms without synthetic chemicals, picking minuscule yields by hand on ropes and ladders before fermenting with wild yeasts in neutral French oak casks.
