Clos de Sarpe is one of the most fiercely guarded secrets on the Saint-Émilion plateau: nine acres of vines in a single walled block, owned by one family since 1923. Total production of the 2016: 11,000 bottles for the entire world.

The wine carries the estate's Grand Cru Classé rank, and Jeb Dunnuck scored it a massive 97, calling it "off-the-hook." Inky and floral, with startling purity of fruit, it's just entering its prime drinking window, with fifteen years of runway ahead.

Now the market reality. You cannot buy this bottle anywhere else in the United States. Overseas, the cheapest on the planet is $78, in Switzerland, in case you're interested in a quick trip. France (the wine's home market) runs in the mid-$80s, and some shops want $132. We're selling it for $75. The lowest price in the world, on a 97-point, old-vine Saint-Émilion in its prime. Buy it by the case. We'd tell you to shop around, but there's nowhere to go.
