Product Description
2010 La Pointe: poised power, rare elegance.
Perfectly-aged, back-vintage Pomerol from a top producer is tough to come by. In Pomerol’s pantheon of mystique, Château La Pointe remains beautifully underground—but its 2010 deserves full spotlight. Unlike more overt Merlot monsters, La Pointe crafts wines with steel-laced structure, graphite precision, and an almost nervous tension you'll often find more in Bordeaux’s Grand Cru siblings. The estate’s parcels sit on blue clay over gravel, directly adjacent to legendary estates, but in La Pointe’s hands, the fruit is trimmed, teased, and released only when harmony is achieved.
La Pointe’s philosophy is low-yield, ultra-selective, and purposefully unconventional. They favor native yeasts, moderate extraction, a restrained percentage of new oak, and a drawn-out élevage to sharpen rather than soften. In 2010, a vintage both generous and structured, their approach paid off: you get red-depth density without overripe excess. Importers and critics across the board celebrate this bottle as among La Pointe’s finest in modern memory—elegant, layered, and highly collectible.
